Loans are available to credit union members only, but joining HEWFCU is simple, plus it avails you of a vast array of financial services. You can join HEWFCU if you live, work, worship, or attend school in the city of Washington D.C. (click here for further eligibility guidelines). It only takes a few minutes and an opening deposit of $5.00 or more to become a member.

If you want to compare our rates on automobile loans, we are sure that you will find we are ultra-competitive and a real money-saver, as much as 5-6% below local banks. Unlike dealerships, we do not have come-on rates, or teaser rates, only available to a select few.     Instructions for applying for a loan:
    (If you are already an HEWFCU member, please     proceed to Step 2)

     

    1. You must become a member prior to applying for a loan. Download and complete our Membership Application and fax it to 202-488-5476, mail it along with your opening deposit to HEWFCU, P.O. Box 25516, Alexandria, VA   22313-5516, or drop it off at one of our area branches. If you are faxing or mailing your application, please provide copies of two original forms of identification (acceptable forms are state-issued drivers licenses or non-drivers IDs, military IDs, social security cards, and passports). HEWFCU, as required by the USA Patriot Act and NCUA Regulations, must verify the identity and eligibility of any individual opening an account. The documents provided will be used solely for these purposes. Before submitting your application, please read and print a copy of our account disclosures for your records. You may obtain a printed copy from any of our branches.

     

    2. Once you have become a member or if you are already a member, you may apply for a loan online, at the phone number listed above, or at one of our branch locations. Complete our secure online loan application. Your loan application will be received and processed during our special loan hours, Monday through Friday. Proof of identification will be required at the time of disbursement should your loan be approved. Loans will be disbursed at HEWFCU branch locations. By submitting your application electronically, you give HEWFCU permission to pull a credit report and to determine your creditworthiness.
