With a population of nearly 2 million residents, Prince george's and Montgomery Counties remain two of Maryland's fastest growing counties.  HEWFCU can now provide over 389,000 residents of these dynamic and diverse counties, countless financial products and services including free checking, free financial counseling services, mortgage products, IRAs and children's savings accounts.

As in 2004, with the approval to serve the entire city of Washington, D.C., HEWFCU plans to serve the communities within Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, that have been highly targeted by predatory lenders.  With this approach, HEWFCU has a goal to first education potential members on the benefits of trusting a credit union with their financial future; and finally building a relationship with members that leads to auto loans, mortgages, credit counseling and even recurring online bill payment.
